Intern – Credit Analyst/Sale Associate, Real Estate Banking Group -Boise, Idaho2020 Paid Summer Intern 

 

Zions Bank (“Bank”) has an opportunity for an intern to work in our Real Estate Banking Group.  The intern will work on or be exposed to the following:

  • Research and analyze the real estate industry and Bank debt metrics.  Travel may be required.
  • Perform research and analysis on other industry specialties including Affordable Housing, Hospitality, as well as other commercial/industrial property types.
  • Research internally and externally prepared reports to identify commercial real estate property owners and create a strategy for discovery and business development.
  • Review industry research reports to provide a summary of the specific industry for commercial real estate loans.
  • Analyze borrower financial statement ratios and compare to the industry averages and generate a summary of questions/issues to discuss as part of loan underwriting.
  • Analyze individual tax returns and credit reports to calculate debt to income ratio and personal cash flow available to service debt.
  • Consult and participate in calling activities for new business development with other calling officers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Currently working on a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with strong emphasis in finance, accounting, business or related coursework.

  • Ability to contribute to a customer facing or relationship development role.

  • Basic working knowledge or interest of financial and spread analysis, credit, lending, underwriting processes and principles, and sales practices.

  • Experience in conducting research and ability to provide written summaries and reports.

  • Knowledge or interest in working with various types of loans, credit risk, legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Requires strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written is essential.

  • Detail oriented with strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to make sound decisions and be inquisitive.  Is not afraid to ask questions or make recommendations.

  • Working knowledge of computer software programs including Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
