We are currently seeking a Risk & Compliance Officer to join the Market, Liquidity Wealth Risk & Compliance team. This position is located in SLC, Utah.


Description

Market, Liquidity, Wealth Risk& Compliance members work closely with key executives to monitor and manage some of the most significant (and expanding) processes associated with the financial services industry. Involvement in this group provides unique opportunities such as the chance to develop new and enhance existing risk and compliance programs in emerging business lines and support other regulatory processes and initiatives.


Responsibilities:

A Risk & Compliance Officer within this division provides leadership, analytical skills, and innovative thinking necessary to not only carry out existing risk monitoring frameworks over the market, liquidity, and wealth, but also to enhance and improve existing programs and challenge business line assertions and assessments. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the primary risk and compliance officer for specific business lines.
  • Carry out testing and evaluation procedures in accordance with risk and compliance programs.
  • Prepare written reports, analysis, and recommendations to be provided to executive management, significant committees and councils, regulators, and the Board of Directors Develop agendas, coordinate meetings, and prepare and collect materials for key risk committees.
  • Coordinate with various enterprise risk management divisions and business lines to provide effective oversight.
  • Provide assistance in developing, implementing, and enhancing existing risk monitoring frameworks.
  • Provide data analysis support for other members of the team.
  • Execute other duties as assigned by department management.

The environment is dynamic and growing, as risk officers frequently evaluate business units throughout the entire Enterprise and affiliates.  Some travel may be required.

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related field and
  • 4+ experience in financial services regulatory compliance, securities industry, investment management, investment banking, auditing or other directly related experience. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to bring together large amounts of data into succinct reports
  • Strong Excel skills and experience in data analysis, data mining, or database management is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information to regulators, senior management, and the Board of Directors
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Skill at tracking and coordinating large and complex processes
  • Ability to learn on the fly and think independently
  • Relevant professional certifications or the strong desire to work towards relevant certifications (e.g., Series 7, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), , Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA), or other SEC and FINRA Licenses)
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently or with team members
